چکیده

In this paper, we propose a variation of honeycomb meshes. A honeycomb rectangular disk HReD(m,n) is obtained from the honeycomb rectangular mesh HReM(m,n) by adding a boundary cycle. A honeycomb rectangular disk HReD(m,n) is a 3-regular planar graph. It is obvious that the honeycomb rectangular mesh HReM(m,n) is a subgraph of HReD(m,n). We also prove that HReD(m,n) is hamiltonian. Moreover, HReD(m,n) f remains hamiltonian for any f 2 V (HReD(m,n)) [ E (HReD(m,n)) if n P 6. 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Homogenizing media containing a highly conductive honeycomb substructure

Abstract. The present paper deals with the homogenization of the heat conduction which takes place in a binary three-dimensional medium consisting of an ambiental phase having conductivity of unity order and a rectangular honeycomb structure formed by a set of thin layers crossing orthogonally and periodically. We consider the case when the conductivity of the thin layers is in inverse proporti...

Generalized honeycomb torus is Hamiltonian

Generalized honeycomb torus is a candidate for interconnection network architectures, which includes honeycomb torus, honeycomb rectangular torus, and honeycomb parallelogramic torus as special cases. Existence of Hamiltonian cycle is a basic requirement for interconnection networks since it helps map a “token ring” parallel algorithm onto the associated network in an efficient way. The globally Bi-3*-connected property of the honeycomb rectangular torus

The honeycomb rectangular torus is an attractive alternative to existing networks such as mesh-connected networks in parallel and distributed applications because of its low network cost and well-structured connectivity. Assume that m and n are positive even integers with n P 4. It is known that every honeycomb rectangular torus HReTðm; nÞ is a 3-regular bipartite graph. We prove that in any HR...

Biomimetic honeycomb-patterned surface as the tunable cell adhesion scaffold.

Inspired by the typically adhesive behaviors of fish skin and Parthenocissus tricuspidata, two different decorations of polystyrene honeycomb membrane (PSHCM) prepared by the breath figure approach were carried out with poly(N-(3-Sulfopropyl)-N-(methacryloxyethyl)-N,N-dimethylammonium betaine)(polySBMA) to explore controllable bioadhesive surfaces. Casting and dip-coating were employed to graft...

Existence of zero-energy modes in the finite edged Kitaev honeycomb model

We describe how the Kitaev honeycomb model with a finite number of sites on a torus may be easily generalised to cylindrical and rectangular topologies using a recently developed fermionisation technique. We then look for criteria which determine if zero-energy modes exist for these cases in the absence of an external magnetic field. For the cylindrical case, we determine the combination of spi...
